Volcano Day was founded in 2017 by a local guide better known as «Chicharra». His mission was to do what he loves – hike volcanoes – and encourage locals by showing them that they can also succeed on their own merits.
Volcano Day is the only tour operator in León that’s 100% owned by Nicaraguans. We are mostly known for our volcano boarding tours. We’re run by a dedicated team of locals, with the help of international volunteers. We aim to be a platform for the empowerment of local talent.
